Printing Guidelines
File format
Our print ready file preference is Portable
Document Format (PDF) or Encapsulated Postscript (EPS) file. Other
acceptable application program files include Quark XPress, Adobe
InDesign, Adobe PageMaker, Adobe Illustrator and Corel Draw. All
images and fonts have to be included or outlined (curved) for
final output.
Preflight all files before transfer if possible.
Create and save images in EPS or TIFF format in CMYK colour mode
only. RGB image will not colour separate correctly for offset
printing. Resolution for all images at original size should be
a minimum of 300 dpi. Right size all images if possible on all
applications to prevent image quality degradation and file oversize.
If the image is enlarged, e.g. in a page layout program, make
sure the resolution is still at least 300dpi for full-color artwork
and 1200dpi for Bitmap (black & white line art).
The process colour printing will convert all
Pantone colour to process colour. Use Pantone’s conversion
swatch to preview final colour output.
Preparing a PDF
file
We currently use a complete PDF (in prepress
high resolution) workflow for the computer-to-plate process. Create
PDF files by printing to Adobe Distiller printer drivers.
See print options below for your version of Acrobat Distiller.
- Adobe Acrobat 6.0
Select Printing Preferences / Adobe PDF Settings / Press Quality
- Acrobat Distiller 5.0
Select Printing Preferences / Adobe PDF Settings / Press
- Acrobat Distiller 4.0
Select Press Optimized in the job option. Do not change any
settings.
Other preferred file formats include TIFF and
EPS saved according to our preflight guidelines. We will accept
native application files with fonts and link images properly collected
and attached. Any modification and extra effort to prepare files
for printing may be billable with customer consent.
Files Delivery
All print files can be delivered electronically
as attachment via email or directly upload through our web site.
Files under 5 Mb can be delivered via E-mail to mail@pgcentro.com.
Files exceeding 5 Mb can be uploaded to the web site directly.
We recommend compress file or collection of
files into a single archive file before electronic transfer. Mac
